Pastor Lawrence E. WomackReverend Lawrence Eugene Womack, Sr. was born on April 6, 1946, in Chester, Pennsylvania to Izetter Womack. At the age of 4 to 14, he lived in Danville Virginia then relocated to the Washington Metropolitan area where he now resides in Prince Georges County, Maryland. He is the husband of Reverend Patricia P. Womack, a native Washingtonian, who works closely with him in his ministry. Reverend Womack is the proud father of six children, Tanya (Deceased), Lawrence Jr., Elkicha, Matthew, Maurice and Marcus (Brittany); eight grandchildren, Andrea, Vicki, Juliano, Natasha, LaShae, Myla, Moriah, Lawrence III; and five great-grandchildren.
Pastor Womack attended public schools in Danville, VA and in Washington, DC where He received his higher education at the University of the District of Columbia, Washington Bible College and Washington Saturday College at Howard University. He was called to the Gospel Ministry in 1979, at the Maple Springs Baptist Church, Capitol Heights, MD and licensed to preach in June 1980, under the direction of Pastor Chester A. McDonald, Sr. Pastor Womack was ordained on April 5, 1997. Since being called to the Gospel Ministry, Pastor Womack has served as Leader of the Home, Hospital and Prison Ministry, Interim Pastor for the Seat Pleasant Baptist Church, member of The Living, Loving and Learning Coalition, assists with food distribution at Central Union Mission, the Gleaning Ministry and other organization in the area. On Sunday, March 1, 1998, Pastor Womack held his first Service at Faith, Deliverance and Resurrection Baptist Church (FDR) where he currently presides as Senior Pastor. Pastor Womack loves the Lord and serving God’s people. His favorite saying is “God is Faithful,” supported by his favorite Scripture: Psalm 27:1-2 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.” |
